MEET OUR COACHES
Bailey Whyte - Co-Head-Coach
Bailey is a Biomedical Biology student at Laurentian University. She competed as a competitive gymnast (2009-2014), returning as a master gymnast in 2017. In 2015 and 2016, she completed levels 1 and 2 . Bailey is a coach for the YMCA recreational gymnastics program (2013-present) and a coach for the Sudbury Salto Gymnastics Club (2015-present).

Sydney Robbins - Co-Head-Coach
Sydney Robbins has been the head coach of the recreational gymnastics program since 2013. She is a concurrent education student at Laurentian University. She is NCCP Level 1 and 2 certified. Sydney tarted as a recreational gymnast in 2007, then joined the Salto family in 2008 and began competing as a Salto gymnast in 2009. She began coaching Salto's in 2014 (levels 1-6).
Bob Simon - Founder & Volunteer Coach
Bob was instrumental in founding the Sudbury Salto gymnastics program. Since 1978 Bob has volunteered as a part-time recreational gymnastics coach. He has coached high school gymnastics since 1980 and has volunteered as a competitive gymnastics coach for the Saltos since 1981. Bob completed levels 1 and 2 of the National Coaching Certification Program in 1980 and 1984 respectively. Every Sudbury Salto has grown through Bob’s constructive critique and colourful commentary.
Dean Dion - Boys Head Coach
Dean has been a dedicated volunteer and the Head Coach of the Sudbury Salto boys program since 2002. From 1984 to 1988 Dean competed and placed first overall in regional gymnastics competitions (1984-1986). He previously coached recreational and competitive gymnastics at the YMCA from 1989 to 1994. He returned to coach recreational gymnastics in 1999 and competitive gymnastics in 2005. The Sudbury Salto Gymnastics Club is very fortunate to have Dean supporting the development of men’s artistic gymnastics.
